Old French Style All Hand Worked, Vermont Sugar Bush Rock Hard Maple Larger Size Handled Rustic Cutting, Serving Board w/ Early Tap Holes. This Beautiful Grained Solid Thick Wooden Cutting Board still has three original tap holes where the maple sap was tapped from the tree many years ago. The maple tree was well over 100 years old when I harvested it 4 years ago. This tree stood the test of time and weather giving her maple sap to be made into Pure Maple syrup, its time has come to live on..in your country farmhouse kitchen.
This very fine cutting board is made from 100% Solid Vermont Rock Hard Sugar Maple Hardwood and is very resistant to constant use and easy to keep clean. All our boards are Sealed and Hand Polished with food grade mineral oil and organic bees wax for protection to the wood. It also brings out the beautiful maple wood graining. Our cutting boards were cut from our huge maple trees in our Farms Sugar Bush Forest when the tree was at the end of its life. We harvest the tree and send the logs into our own sawmill to be cut into lumber to be used for the next 100 years. This sawn lumber is then dried and milled into boards in our own farm wood shop. The maple wood is air dried for 4 years before being made into fine wide thick maple cutting boards or pieces of our handworked furniture.
The tap holes are pegged with Black Walnut Wood and the hardness of Rock Hard Maple is very suitable as a cutting board being food grade and for every day use. This cutting board is (Not) an antique or old vintage piece at all. These are our own Very Fine Quality Custom French Styled Cutting Boards. They are made and meant to be used for All Food Preparations, Cutting or Serving and have (Never) been used ever.

All my pieces are harvested in our woods, then milled into lumber in my saw mill, dried in our wood drying shed, handmade by us in our wood shop here on our farm in the Northeast Kingdom of VT.
Care; To clean just wipe with a damp soapy dish cloth, rinse and dry. Never let the wood soak in the water or put it into a dish washer. To maintain the board finish; we recommend resealing with food grade mineral oil or beeswax oil blend every 6 months, or when needed. When you reseal the board, clean and dry first.
